Chicago...this time it stunk

Ok I don't want to be a Debbie Downer or a Negative Nancy but this last show in Chicago bit the BIG ONE.... I was working with the coolest people and most of the other vendors where great too... but the customers where quite miserable human beings....they where just there to buy cheap $1 jewelry and to parade around in HORRIBLE outfits. I said good morning to a woman and her response was "No thank you." *sigh* People are so crazy......... I am so glad to be home for a little bit :)

West side story

I came out of my first trip to NY unscathed....for the most part anyway ;). I arrived to our hotel VERY early in the morning and our room wasn't ready yet. I had a very late flight the night before so while I sat in the lobby and waited I may have fallen asleep.... I awoke to the nice Indian man informing me a room was ready for me. I think it may have looked a little bad for business having me drooling on the sofa in the lobby like a homeless person.

It was very surreal eating breakfast in central park,  walking down fifth avenue, going into the New York Library and standing in Time Square, drinking in the Lower East Side and falling madly in love with a bartender named John that will forever hold the key to my heart..... but that is a story for another day......Of course all of this sightseeing was done after two kick A$$ days at the IMATS-NY show. So far this has been my best show yet.

This is John the bartender that has stolen my heart... SWOON
When I first arrived at the show held in a beautiful Soho loft in NY I felt VERY out of place. All the other vendors looked so chic and well... New York. Here I was this goofy girl from Utah surrounded by a lot of well known beauty professionals such as beauty bloggers that have oh a few hundred THOUSAND followers.... not that I knew who they where (I don't follow You tube bloggers much myself) After a few hours I didn't feel so out of place and everyone was surprisingly friendly.

This is Soho where the IMATS show was held
I was personally surprised by how friendly the people in NY where. I had always heard how harsh and rude New Yorkers where.... especially to out of towners but I thought they where very warm and friendly. Might have helped that my tour guide was a former New Yorker.

This man kept saying "Come to England" but he didn't have a British accent

San Diego is the place to be..... Beach living is the life for me... !

My latest gig was in sunny, beautiful SAN DIEGO, CA!!... well a few miles north in Carlsbad but I did spend some time in San Diego. I love San Diego/Carlsbad I have been there a few times and just recently went there to visit Shaun and Virginia.... who also happened to be here in UT last weekend! so I was able to see my very best friend 2 weekends in a row.

This show was an expo that was outside during the annual Carlsbad 5000. This marathon/race has been held since 1989 and there are thousands of people that come and participate. I didn't realize this show was outside until the morning of.... which I must add began at 5 AM!!!!! UGH.... yet I managed to get a really awesome (insert sarcasm here) sunburn AND to add insult to injury many, many, many people commented on my pasty-ness.... DUH.

We got together after we where both off of work Saturday night and where did we go on a gorgeous Saturday night?? TJ Maxx and to get frozen yogurt baby! Haha we are two WiLd and CrAzY gals. this is why we are besties... we can make anything amazingly fun.

I got's dance moves... when Virginia saw me in this... she was speechless..

The last night we stayed in downtown San Diego in the gaslamp quarter at the Courtyard Marriott. The building was built in 1928 and was originally a local bank on the main floor and on the 7th floor was the headquarter for the FBI's San Diego field office. We where staying on the 7th floor..... I wonder if Mt. J. Edgar Hoover ever walked in that room or down that hallway in a dress and heels..... hmmm... But the building was amazing... all marble, concrete and steel.
